Berlin Center for Genomics in Biodiversity Research
The Berlin Center for Genomics in Biodiversity Research (BeGenDiv) is the central hub for BBIB scientists who apply genomics and bioinformatics to answer cutting-edge questions about the ecological and evolutionary processes shaping biodiversity. It is located at the Botanical Museum in Dahlem and is involved in whole genome sequencing, transcriptomics, metagenomics and biodiversity assessment using amplicon sequencing techniques.
The BeGenDiv is a joint initiative of the Freie Universität Berlin, the Universität Potsdam, the Leibniz Institute for Zoo & Wildlife Research (IZW), the Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries (IGB), and the Museum für Naturkunde – Leibniz Institute for Research on Evolution and Biodiversity at the Humboldt University Berlin (MfN).
