New citizen science project launched: The graveyard vases experiment

Camille Musseau (BIBS project) has started a new citizen science project aiming to understand the effects of urbanization on freshwater macro-invertebrates colonization of small artificial freshwater systems. You may know about it as the "graveyard vases experiment"!

The website is now online: and the first "mini-ponds" (=graveyard vases) have been installed. This first phase includes 15 people and will last until the end of June.

The second one will start in June and last until October, this time we hope to have between 30 and 40 people involved! Please, help and spread the word to people you know who might be interested in knowing better freshwater biodiversity in Berlin and Potsdam. A similar experiment will start simultaneously in Salzburg and Toulouse.

Please follow the project via Facebook and Twitter.
